Frequently Asked Questions

Dr. Michele Locke

What are the fees for services rendered?

My fees fall within the recommendations outlined by the Ontario Psychological Association. Fees vary depending on the nature of the service rendered. A copy of my fee policy will be sent, once you have contacted me for services.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I am presently accepting Interac e-Transfer (drmichelelocke@gmail.com), cheque, and cash payment. I require payment the same day as appointments occur. You will be invoiced for services rendered and issued a receipt for services paid.

Are psychotherapy services covered by OHIP?

Psychological services are not covered by OHIP. Many extended health insurance plans do provide some coverage. You will be provided a receipt for services that can be submitted to your insurance company or claimed for tax deduction purposes.

How do I seek services with you?

To book an intake appointment, please submit a request for services, call the clinic, or send an email. I will aim to respond within 2 business days to inform you about wait times. You do not need a referral from a general medical professional to seek services.

Is there a waitlist?

I always aim to service clients in a timely manner. That said, there may be a waitlist for services. If there is a wait time, I will inform you of a range and offer you referrals to other resources in the interim. If clinical care is urgent, or someone’s safety is critical please seek emergency services at your local emergency room or call 911.

What COVID-19 protocols are in place?

At present, I am doing a combination of in person and remote care, due to the COVID-19 restrictions. My office space will provide enough room for social distancing, should you desire services in person. The office abides by all COVID-19 cleaning protocols to ensure client safety. You will be provided more information as to the COVID-19 protocols when services resume in person.

Are sessions and services confidential and private?

Your privacy and confidentiality are critical. Your identity and personal information will be kept strictly confidential, meaning that no information can be shared with others without explicit consent from you. There are certain exceptions to confidentiality according to Ontario law, and these will be fully discussed with you during your first session. In Ontario, children at or over the age of 12 years have a right to privacy and confidentiality.
